Russia kicking the stuffing out of GEORGIA for GEORGIA Attacking GEORGIAN Territory---IS Extremely Puzzling!!!

On Top of That, Russia disavowing NATO membership-is equally puzzling!!!

Russia stating That Poland is subject to Russian Attack for Poland agreeing The US could place Defensive Missle on Poland's Territory-Is also puzzling!!!

Russia issuing several Warnings To another Former Soviet Satelite Nation The US is set to build bases in-Is Also Puzzling!!!

European Realiance on Russian Natural Gas is a quagmre of stupendous porportions, for both Russia and The Whole of Europe--which is equally Puzzling, Should Russia Turn-Off The Gas Flow!!!

Russia needs The Cash From European Union's Business, as Much as The European Union needs Russian Natural Gas...Darn if this doesn't Create a Catch-22!!!

Providing Russia doesn't engage in any further Military Adventurism or even if Russia in fact does engage in More Westerlly Military Drives-resulting in a Net Loss of Territory for NATO, and resulting increase in Russian's Goal of a Increase in its Buffer/Comfort Zone!!!

What does any of Russia's recent actions-Mean, Only Time Will Tell!!!

Furthermore, What does any of The US's recent actions-Mean, Only Time Will Tell!!!

Drawing on The World's Barometric Pressure Prior to The Outbreak of WWI and Again for WWII-Is it Safe To Say WWIII is in The Winds...???

Irrespective of Who doesn't want What-An Ominous Onorous Situation Is Growing!!!

i think you all need your heads examined, with iran, north korea, and russia not knowing what their doing from one minute to the next i'd rather have someone with their finger on the button, it shows them all that we're not going to sit around and pass sanctions that do nothing but make them laugh. and dave-431453 you can trust obama to manage this great country{thats a joke},white people raised him and put him through college and he denouced his white upbringing when he took his african american name obama in college and choose a black wife and went to a black church that preaches racism against white america, where's your head at. you can't talk to these people, they only understand one thing. i'm a 45y/o white democrat from pittsburgh pa, i'm voting for mccain. if obama wins, we can all stick our heads in the sand when the missles are landing in our back yards.

I hope that most of the people do not agree with you come November bobb. Because if they do, McCain will be elected and we will be in for 4 years of war with somebody. The man is all about war and confrontation.

Bobb 317, Are you afraid of Obama because he is Black and has a Muslim name? He has the intelligence and the statesmanship to lead this country in a positive direction. You are framing your opposition to him with race and cliches about Dems not being tough enough.
I respect McCain, but, I am not voting for him. I am voting for a person, not a Black person. That person is Barack Obama. I have 3 people in my house voting for him.Finger on the button? Perhaps you think nuclear conflict is practical. I know it is not.

Now let's see..... A country go in with force against another country, because they killed thousands of their countrymen. Are we talking about Russia in Georgia, or the USA in about 5 other countries ?

Your all wrong about Russia. I travel there almost every year ( I am not Russian) I saw how the country was under communism... I saw when the Ruble wasn't worth the paper it was written on. I saw free elections come to Russia. I saw American and many other countries invest in many types of business in Russia. I saw where their cars called the Moscov and the Lada was just a piece of junk and now are the worlds best gas mileage cars and great safety features. I see that Russia is doing so well, that it is now the MOST expensive city in the world to live. They have more natural resources ( oil, natural gas, coal etc) and more diamonds and gold than all the other countries in the world put together. Now you think they got all this by being stupid? Face it ! They have enough food crops and factories to be self sufficient. Do we?.............Try thinking them as an equal, not a 2ND class country. Let them manage their country the way THEY want... not the way WE want them to !

ohh Paul. if only people believed you. Some people here have "Russia is Evil" gene encoded in their DNA. I agree with you. i lived under Soviet Rule, so I very well remember what it was like. And I do agree with you on current Russia. But here, we can't think of Russia as our equal. No one is equal to USA. it's not allowed.

Amen Evi. Unfortunately our national perspective is both a blessing and a curse. Without a belief that one is greatest one tends not to strive for greatness. However, one's own over-confidence begets arrogance and a lack of compassion and understanding. I laugh at America's ignorant bravado (I am born and raised in the USA - no flag pin on my lapel).

Should of listened to General George S. Patton

General George S. Patton's Speech to His Troops in June 1944
Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. Men, all this stuff you've heard about America not wanting to fight - wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and never will lose a war, because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans. Now, an army is a team - it lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap... Now, we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world. You know, by god, I actually pity those poor bastards we're goin' up against. By God, I do. We're not just gonna shoot the bastards, we're going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun bastards by the bushel. Now, some of you boys, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll chicken out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty. The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them, spill their blood, shoot them in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do. Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're gonna kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're gonna go through him like crap through a goose. Now, there's one thing that you men will be able to say when you get back home, and you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you: 'What did you do in the Great World War II?', you won't have to say: 'Well, I shoveled @!$%# in Louisiana.' All right, now you sons-of-@!$%#es, you know how I feel and I will be proud to lead you wonderful guys into battle anytime, anywhere. That's all

War begets war. There is always a loser (unless there is a truce) and a winner. And the world learns that violence is a good way to get things done. It is a recipe for continued violence. One party seeking vengeance and other parties learning the benefits of violence.

Damned skippy! George Armstrong Custer proved that for all the ages. Unfortunately, he is very DEAD. Yet you may have a cogent point here, Bobb. Dead might be preferable to a large scale war managed by BushCo ~ seeing how magnificently it has managed the skirmish with a minor player like Iraq. Wanna trust him with a prime time event?

I'm not sure how Putin would react to McCain since he would have to speak through Lieberman to get his message across ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ correctly.

Ignorance is deadly.... Most posters on this net do not know the history of Russian aggression.

                                    1) the missiles we are putting into Poland have non-explosive war heads. Their sole purpose is to collide mechanically with incoming missiles to destroy them in the air. If they hit the ground instead, they cause no more damage than someone dropping a 100 lb sack of potatoes from an airplane.

                                    2) the missiles the Soviets put into Cuba were nuclear tipped ballistic missiles capable of destroying our deterrent forces on the ground before they could be launched... Such a weapon destroys the Mutual Assured Destruction balance that kept BOTH sides from using nuclear weapons. Hey! Remember it was that liberal democratic hero, John F. Kennedy, who recognized this was totally unacceptable.

My fear: Today's Russian leaders are masquerading behind the language of democracy and capitalism just the way the old Soviet leaders pretended to be "communists", eager to share the wealth and power with "the people". They were liars then and appear more and more to be liars now.

Only when they were collapsing economically did they "see the light". Now that they have perto-wealth, the government has again returned to confiscating companies, land and peoples lives. It is just the "propaganda story line" that has changed, not the facts.

What comes around goes around. We did it to Iraq so Georgia does it to Russia so Russia does it to Georgia and so on. Your GOP government set a terrible example by invading Iraq. To the morons shouting nukem:
My God! Don't you have a clue? If we nuke them then they nuke us and everybody nukes everybody and even if the bombs don't get here the fallout will. It's a planet killer! Get it? Radiation poisoning and death! Get it? A vote for McCain or any other old impotent old man is a death sentence for the Earth. Get it? There are no small skirmishes when it comes to NUKES!

How can you compare Russia's invasion of Georgia to the US invasion of Iraq? Are you saying that Russia is going to spend 100+ billion dollars a month to rebuild Georgia? Is Russia going to finance Georgia's military so they can defend themselves? No? Well then I guess it is not the same.

                                        Mary,
One big difference between our invasion of Iraq and the Russian's invasion of Georgia is that Iraq didn't live up to the terms of the cease-fire agreement from Gulf War I. If you doubt me, take a look at all the U.N. resolutions the the Russians didn't bother to veto. Since Saddam failed to comply with the conditions of the cease-fire, the war never ended. All we did was continue the war and defeated his army. Unfortunately we won the war and are trying very hard to lose the peace. And before you start the Bush lied people died talk. look at the interrogations of the Iraqi generals-Saddam even had them fooled about WMD. They all said "I didn't have any in my unit, but that guy did". The situation in Georgia is typical of countries created by outsiders. You see it in Africa and the middle east as well as the old Russian Empire where someone draws lines on a map and says "here is a country" not caring that he is fragmenting tribes or nationalities and forcing people who have hated each other for thousands of years to live together. This works as long as you have the jackboot of tyranny on people's necks, but when you remove it they start trying to kill each other again. As far as I can see there are no easy solutions, but outsiders trying to support one faction againt the other just makes matters worse.

                                          Diplomacy or Death.

It's about time we broke it off with the Russians even though they were the first ones to make a move. The only one's to benefit from our involvement with the Russians has been them. I never trusted them and I espescially don't trust Putin a KGB hack.

Is that a maxim? Every time, war and confrontation are the answer? And there are only 2 alternatives.,
scorched earth or running and hiding? Most situations in life have many variables and many different solutions. I think your thinking in black and white again.

bobb, That is the problem. People listen to the politicos say, "We can't let Iran have nukes. It would be disastrous." The media repeats it, and you believe it. Iran wants nukes for one reason and one reason only, respect. I'm not saying I trust their extremist tendencies. But they want to be respected at the table of oil-producing nations. They want countries like the US to talk to them as equal, sovereign nations. Not as a tough parent talking to a child. They have asked and asked and asked for respect and we (world powers) treat them as retarded children. Frankly, if I were Ahmadinejad, I would do the same thing. Fling my nose at everyone and demand respect.

Instead of utilizing another tact, we say, "We will use any force necessary to prevent the acquisition of nuclear weapons." And look at his reaction. We are doing the same thing with Russia now. "Shape up or else!" C'mon. Call me a bleeding heart, but if we really want to stop fighting unending wars, we have to stop starting them. Instead we should just just demonize people by trying to convince the world they are insane like the US has tried to do with Chavez.

I am not a religious person. But I imagine if there is a God, he must really be looking down and thinking, "tsk, tsk tsk...what a waste of freedom and love."

Now i'm not a general or have any type of military or political training but I definitly have my fair share of common sense. Which I think alot of you cough up when decide to better yourselves in one form or another. I also am not one to hide in a corner when i know a beating is coming. I'd rather have my fists up ready to at least ''try'' to protect myself. It seems though alot of people think by sweet talking and cuddling in the corner is going to somehow spare you from someone pounding on you. This political crap in this country is enough to drive a sane man insane but from most of the comments your mostly sheep that have been trained to respond in the way your political campaign morons have set you up to say. Political morons are Political morons regardless of the political tag and it seems alot of you either don't know or remember history or really don't care when it comes to these baboons. All these people we vote into office on both sides are the same bread they tell you what you want to hear and powder your bottoms and behind closed doors all tags come off and they are just political morons on both sides. First thing you hear about when a campaign kicks off is who's got the most money and what idiots they're forcing us to choose between. How is that democracy. But yet we've done it time and time again and will continue. Why? Because when it comes right down to it in reality most of you could care a less. You got too much to do like worry about what cell phone is the best and how many more songs your I-pod will hold. How much more material crap does a person need to make their life somehow more meaningful? The answer is none. Your grandparents had more sense then most of you and also actually had a set of b@#$@. Thats why your here now. No sense of character or pride or self worth anywhere for that matter. Everything is designed to protect and powder your bottom. Wouldn't surprise me to see how many of you got 10th place ribbons as a kid from your parents to show what a big boy or girl you were and how special. Rotten to the core. Thats why these freaks pop up in colleges and H.S. blowing their fellow students away. Thats where all this sweet talk gets you. Regardless of how Russia and Georgia have gotten themselves up into a tizzy look at the way the surrounding people are taking it. Most of you don't live in Russia or even close by it so how the hell do you know what your shooting off about. The other countries around them are worried even before this all kicked off. Russia will always do what Russia does. Sure they may take a few years off to regroup but in the end they do the same lame stuff over and over again. You ever had a bully come up against you at any point in your life? Did telling him 'lets talk this out'' save you from a beat down. Didn't think so. But hey try try again see what happens. This is another possiblity for a major war wether you want it or not. And as always the same past mistakes are being set up as in the first world wars. America is trying to find a way to stay out of it while Europe is trying to figure how they will survive it. And while you sit here and have your political debates and sweet talk philosophys there just might be a monster beggining to crawl outa his cave. Maybe this time though showing up in the last portion of a war won't be good enough to save the world from a bunch of jerks. World in general is loosing their grip of reality. We're heading into a new age and some don't want to come with us. But they sure the hell will do everything they can to make sure it stays the same. See the problem is the old school i own this you own that, i'm this race your this race. When it comes down to it there's only 1 thing and thats the human race. Hive mentality thats where it's at and this hive is moronic thats why we make no progress in anything that truely matters. So how about all you sheep either vote for Obama or McCain both of them are idiots in their own way and in all reality neither of them are qualified to be our leader. It'll be many many campaigns until we manage to have a 100% true leader that knows what the hell is going on. Hopefully in my lifetime i'll actually get to vote in an election that doesn't result in voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I do however want to praise the people fighting for us so we can continue to live our pamperd lives. If it wasn't for them forcing people to fight on their doorstep rather then ours alot of you babies wouldn't be on this board running your mouth right now you'd be dead or crying in whats left of your basemnt saying ''but it isn't fair''. God Bless America because even through her misteps and misactions she still keeps the course on what is right for the human race and human kind compared to the rest of the world.

And to the other David, are you one of those people who thinks that schools and government need more Christian religion influence? That idea is partially to blame for our ridiculous actions over the last 7 years. How about contraception? Do you think thats the devils work? And David, I really want to know. Do you think invading Iraq was a good idea?
